The Baritone Ukulele is the Big Daddy; largest sized ukulele.

The Baritone Ukulele was created last of all the the other types of ukuleles, around the 1940's. The Baritone Ukulele length is 30 inches, a full nine inches longer than the smaller ukuleles.
The Baritone Ukulele usually comes with four strings, however The Baritone Ukulele can be custom built to have more strings.
The Baritone Ukulele produces the fullest sound out of all the ukuleles and is said to resemble a small guitar.
The part of a Ukulele instrument called the scale refers to the length where the strings can be played. Usually, it runs from the top peg to the bridge of the ukulele. This length differs amongst the four standard types of ukulele. The soprano, with a 13" scale, is the smallest. The Baritone, with a 19" scale, has the longest playable area of all the ukulele types. This more inclined to give the feel of a small guitar instead of a Ukulele.
Tuning the Baritone Ukulele: The Baritone type of Ukulele can be tuned just like the four top strings of a guitar. (If you already know how to play the guitar, learning to play the baritone will be easy for you). Although the typical arrangement for the strings of a ukulele is a G-C-E-A arrangement, this tuning arangement could sometimes cause the strings to be tightened too much on a Baritone Ukulele. For that reason, many people who wisely choose a Baritone Ukulele will tune it to a D-G-B-E arrangement, which as I have mentioned, makes it similar to the top four strings of the guitar.

Playing?

First of all of course we need to be confident that our precious Baritone Ukulele is properly tuned.

Wow exciting isn’t it there is even an electronic tuner to ensure your
Baritone Ukulele is tuned to it’s Very Best.

A Baritone Ukulele is usually crafted in wood, a precious natural material that deserves some loving special care.

It is a good Idea To:

Ø Keep your Baritone Ukulele clean and gently oiled occasionally, basically treated like any valued piece of wooden furniture.

Ø It is a Good Idea; To also wash your hands every time before playing’

Clean hands make you feel good and thus improve your playing experience.

Your Baritone Ukulele will love you for it.

Ø It is a Good Idea To; Store your Baritone Ukulele in the case.

Ø It is also a very good Idea to teach others, especially children to Play your Baritone Ukulele.

Ø It is a good Idea to treat your Baritone Ukulele with loving care and respect, that is play it regularly, and my friend you shall reap the rewards with hours of fun and enjoyment with this special instrument.

It is however, not a Good Idea To:

· Allow your Baritone Ukulele to become too hot or dry, or too cold or damp.

· It is not a good idea; To leave your Baritone Ukulele lying around where it might get damaged.

· It is not a good idea to lend your Baritone Ukulele to other people

· I is not a good idea to leave your Baritone Ukulele unattended for days or weeks, or even months or years.

THE BARITONE BIG DADDY OF UKULELE'S

In the simplest sense the Baritone Ukulele is a smaller edition, guitar like, stringed musical instrument, which originally came from Madeira, an Island in Portugal.
It is said in the 1800’s the Portuguese people along with their prized Ukulele’s travelled to Hawaii and introduced the native people to the Ukulele. Little did they know, just what they were starting, how popular and wide reaching the fame of the Ukulele would become.

As very soon, Hawaiian craftsmen started to make these melodious instruments. Hence the wide use of the Ukulele for people not only in Hawaii but worldwide, because
this user friendly easy to carry light instrument soon grabbed the attention of mainland manufacturers in the early 1900s and then they, in turn, promoted it to the general public.

The mind boggles to envision how the Hawaiian people christened the Ukulele as the name actually interprets to “jumping flea” in Hawaii.

Why the Baritone Ukulele?? Well this is the “BIG DADDY” of all Ukulele’s.
Smaller than the guitar, and larger than most other Ukulele’s, the Baritone is treasured for its rich clear sound with the added advantage of being very bright and resonant.

All the strings are nylon so it is not quite as harsh on fingers, this along with the easy learn and play features, make a very user friendly addition to your musical accomplishments.
